Organizing and Cleaning Tips and Hints

Why is it that when we have so many books and necessary things, we have a desk that only holds half of what we have? Doesn't it seem that the first day of school your desk seemed to be so much larger? Now that we have settle into the daily routine of classes and what books and folders that we need, we seem to have less space available. When, in reality, the same amount of space is available for us to use, we just aren't using it the way we did in the beginning of the year. Now we have books that we ar reading, extra pencils and small packets of Kleenex etc.

What we need to do from time to time is to clean out our desks of all of the uncessary items, organize what we do need and decide if what we have in our desk wouldn't be better off stored in our lockers.

In a way instead of organizing it is called prioritizing! We have only so much space to use so we have to keep the items in there that are the #1 priority in the school day.

This would be things like books, notebooks, paper, pencils and our folders. If we have a holder for our pencils and ruler, that will make it easier to find them when we need them and they won't get shoved to the bottom of the desk.

If you keep your books in the order that you have your classes, it will be faster for you to find them.

Your papers and homework should be kept in an accordion file so that all you have to do at the end of the day is grab one (1) file to take along home and you will have everything that you need for your homework.

If you only use a certain book on Tuesdays and Thursdays, it may be smarter to leave that book in your locker until the day that you are going to use it. You will have more space in your desk and it will be easier to keep it organized.

I like it a bit, but I wish it had more like what do do with your binders and stuff. Some of us are still in grade school, and some schools don't have lockers, so it wasn't that helpful.
